Home made doughnuts:

                 

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups milk
2 1/2 ounces vegetable shortening, approximately 1/3 cup
2 packages instant yeast
1/3 cup warm water (95 to 105 degrees F)
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
2 cups of all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting surface
Peanut or vegetable oil, for frying (1 to 1/2 gallons, depending on fryer)

Icing Recipe:
4 cups powders sugar.
3 tablespoons  of vanaila.
2 tablespoons of milk.
 
Directions:

Put ingredience  for the dough in the bread maker and set it to the dough setting.
Divided to dough into ball or bear claw size whatever shape you want.
Put your doughnuts shapes on a plate and put them in 110 or lowest setting on your oven with the door partly open to let them proof or to rise for 30 minutes. 
If you have a small fryer that is fine  just do in several batches. Fry them at 350 till they rise to the top flip them when you notice the other side looks golden brown. cook till the other side is golden brown.  set on a clean plate after you have drained the extra oil off. let cool for 10 minutes.
Add icing that you made  then sprinkle whatever topping you would like.
ICING: take a whisk and whisk ingredients till it looks like ribbons coming off a spoon.
Drizzle over donuts and top with you favorite topping.
